THE MAN BEHIND THE MASK
Eelco van Baarle, who carries his nickname Billy with pride since his youth, is this illustrative sniper with more then ten years of experience and has done work for many companies, design-, advertising- and event agencies. The only thing that kept him busy as a child was drawing and doodling. In primary school he even had the exception that he was the only one in the class that was allowed to make his book reports in comicbook form, that’s when it all started…
After Billy graduated in Graphic Design and Multimedia he dove straight into animation and created ‘explanimations’ and presentations for an ‘intelligent packaging’ company.
After 6 months he got a job at the advertising agency across the street, where he created animations and visuals for a.o. illy caffé, ING and Philips. After another 6 months he got recruited by a design company of two of his friends where he did all kinds of work for clients like Philips, SAP and Nike. He worked there for four years before he started A guy called Billy, which is successful for over ten years now.
‘Billy’ has worked for clients such as KLM, TDK, Rabobank, Pro Sport, Kaspersky Lab, Gasterra, Interbest, Philips, G4S and RWE, and has developed his own unique style and way of thinking outside the box. He has the habit of coming up with things the clients do not expect.., but do love!
